Some of the pioneer models are leaning on a long stick. Out of curiosity what is that, a long handled weird shovel or just something to lean on?

without seeing the model I would guess a metal detector for mines.

Its an assault charge. You run up push it flat on the target and set it off. or prop it so its against the target but the idea is to be incover. Its sorta like the bangalore torpedo

left hand guy is an entrenching tool the next one going to the right is an assault charge pole

Based how the guy is using his entrenching tool and the other stand on the far right, I figured it was a big stick used in help clear mines. I have the late war pioneers the photo is from and I don't see anything that looks to be explosives being carried by the guy with the stick.
My experience with bangalore torpedos is they're designed to be straight and easily attached to one another. The reason they were straight was so it was easier to keep it pointed in the direction it was intended to be exploded.

Maybe I know my old pioniers has the assault charge on the stick figs and the mine sweepers but thats it
