OK 4 lists total 2 from Cobra and 2 from FE 2. The unit choices are basically the same but the difference is in the recon and special rules. The FE lists will defend vs armor while the Cobra lists always attack.
FE CT 40 HQ Bazooka 240 Arm Rifle 240 Arm Rifle 240 Arm Rifle 335 SP TD 185 AFAB 185 AFAB 40 AOP 105 Arm Mortar 140 2x Cav Patrols 1750
FE CV 50 HQ Baz 310 Arm Rifle 310 Arm Rifle 435 SP TD 240 AFAB 135 Arm Mortar 280 2 Cav Patrols 1750
Cobra CT 40 HQ Bazooka 240 Arm Rifle 240 Arm Rifle 240 Arm Rifle 335 SP TD 185 AFAB 185 AFAB 40 AOP 120 Arm Mortar with 50cals 110 1 Cav Recon Patrol 1735
Cobra CV 30 HQ 310 Arm Rifle 310 Arm Rifle 435 SP TD 240 AFAB 135 Arm Mortar 280 2 Cav Recon Patrols 1740
There is a big difference in how a Cobra list will play vs an FE list. If you use Cobra you may have to attack tanks the FE lists let you use the lists defensive ability vs armor.

This is a very similar list to mine. I run one of two versions:
25 HQ 240 ARP 240 ARP 240 ARP 105 armored mortars 175 armored recon 185 armored arty 185 armored arty 275 4x 75mm M4A3 -or- 235 5x Stuart light tanks 80 2 M8 Scott's -or- 120 3 M8 Scott's ____ ____ 1750 pts 1750 pts
I am not very good with the SP TD Doctrine yet. I get them killed too fast. I'll let the Infantry's bazookas and hopefully roll good terrain handle the tanks for now.

Here is the US Armored Rifles list I am looking at. 2nd AD from Cobra.. All Confident Vets w/spearhead- HQ w/37mm halftrack - 45pts ARP - Full Str - 310 ARP - Full Str - 310 Armored Mortars - Full Str- 135 Recon Platoon w/37mm halftrack & 'zooka @ full str - 115 Assault Gun Platoon x3 - 155 Light Tank Platoon x4 - 250 AFAB x3 - 240 L4 grasshopper - 40 Limited P47 Air support - 150 Total - 1750 7 platoons that always attack - 2 recon groups 2 smoke bombardment groups 3 direct fire smoke teams 7 fast in your face tanks - 16" move The M8s are used for direct fire smoke and killing gun teams. Stuarts harrass anything I need them to. Air planes and Priests kill tanks or anything I need them to hunt. Recon and HQ 37mm half tracks hunt down gun teams ARPs do what they do best.. kill alot of stuff Thoughts?

When you are playing infantry and medium armor you should be ok until you face a horde of medium tanks. I think your draw back is a lack of direct fire AT. As a tank player I can honestly tell you that without crediable direct fire AT units on the other side of the table you can be hunted. Even though you have 50 billion Bazookas you still only motivate on a 4+ and you still have to get through DF. The direct fire smoke dosnt realy add alot to your flexablity when it dosnt block the targets LOS. I would look at droping the Scotts and something else and grab some 3inch AT so armor has something to worry about.

hello dagrinch, this seems to be a fine list to me. i like the balance. however, most of the air support i see gets shot down or is not very effective. does it give you ample striking ability? depends. everyone has their own style and tactics. since running a 2nd armor cobra list means more times than not you will be attacking, i prefer to have as much firepower on the table as possible. what about this variant of your list: 45 HQ + 37mm half-track 310 ARP 310 ARP 90 Recon platoon (2 sec) 135 Arm Mortar (3 sec) 310 5x Stuart light tanks 270 3x Shermans 240 AFAB (1 sec) 40 AOP Grasshopper 1750 pts
My thoughts would be that a 5 stuart platoon is better if you use the 'spearhead' move (32" cross country) vs. an ARP (24" cross country) to contest an objective until the ARP's arrive and still have some survivability. As for the 3 shermans, they have the same ROF, firepower, and smoke as the scotts, but increase in firing range, all armor ratings, anti-tank, and stabilizers. you can hunt down gun teams from twice as far but, you do lose the bombardment capability and 4" of movement. depends on which one you like best. i use Recon for Recon only. i have never noticed the 37mm gun option for a half-track. if you get the 24" range, ROF 3, AT 7, firepower 4, and gun shield; i like it! also, if you want the M4 81mm MMC for smoke only, maybe drop down to 2 sections and add HQ bazooka and upgrade the Recon half-track to the 37mm. depends on whether you want 1 template or 2 for smoke. you still have 7 platoons attacking: 2 Recon groups(AOP & Recon), 2 smoke bombardment options( M4 MMC & Priest's), 3 direct smoke teams(shermans), but only 5 fast tanks w/ 16" movement.
i hope my suggestions are helpful. these two lists may be "six of one; half a dozen of another". just a few of my thoughts.
