I like option 1 better. The real annoying mixed lists are Panthers, Stugs, Tigers and brumbs or Panthers, Stugs, Brums and Flame panzers

Ok, here are a couple of lists I came up with, they are from Fortress Europa, but could be from Festung, as little in a panzer force changed. 190 2 Panzer IV H (HQ) 560 3 Panther A 380 4 Panzer IV H 430 3 Tiger 1E 180 3 Armored Sd Kfz 7/2 (3.7cm) Or 190 2 Panzer IV H (HQ) 560 3 Panther A 285 3 Panzer IV H ((intent is to KG one with the 2iC to make 2x2 platoons 430 2 Tiger 1E 155 3 Nebs + PaK38 120 2 Armored Sd Kfz 7/2 (3.7cm) Ok Eric...the really nasty one I encountered at nationals looked like this: HQ & 2IC Pz IVH- 190 2 platoons 4 Panzer IVH- 760 1 platoon 3 Panzer Va (Panther)- 560 1 platoon 2 SdKfz 7/2 (3.7cm)- 120 1 platoon 3 section scout/schwimwagen- 120? Take a look at it...lots of panzer mass with scouts to avoid ambush. David

The 1 extra MG dice is only going to play out when your fireing at targets outside BP cover. If you are being charged in a flank then most likely your own treads are going to block each other out of DF fire. Personaly I am not sold on medium armor perior unless it comes with all at 12 guns. The drawback to the Stug and Pz IV is the 11AT. Even Shermans get a decent save vs this at range and up close their numbers make up for allot. Also when your handleing allied armor the FA 7 Stug is going to be running with 2+ saves until the range drops against most allied AFVs or ATGs.

A single infantry platoon is not enough to launch assaults with. I learned that the hard way at Nats. I still think your spending to many points on Panthers. Ether go all out 8 panthers + filler or take a small HQ and support the list with Panthers. Ether way if your going to be there sunday Eric want to play a game?
