I'm looking for some advice on this American Rifle list I'm working on. I played Warren Friday evening, and he offered some advice, and I've adjusted my list somewhat.
First, I changed from Confident Trained to Confident Veteran. I've lacked reliability in the games I've played thus far, so wanted the better trained troops. I'm also finding that with all of the stuff I have in the Trained list, my deployment zone is far to crowded. This list cuts back significantly on the number of units I need to deploy.
Company HQ with 2 bazookas - 60 points Rifle Platoon with 3 squads - 205 points Rifle Platoon with 3 squads - 205 points Mortar Platoon with 2 sections - 125 points Tank Platoon with 3 Shermans - 270 points Tank Destroyer Platoon with 4 M18 Hellcats - 435 points Engineer Combat Platoon with 2 operating sections + 4 bazookas - 280 points Field Artillery Battery with 2 Gun Sections - 190 points
This list is very trimmed from my previous list. I hope that using the Hellcats with the benefits of the US Tank Destroyer rules will help me countering some of the very nasty German tanks.
Any advice offered is appreciated.
John

You cant use M18s in an Italy Vet list they are only useable in the CT Normandy lists. You really need to even out your platoon count. Deployment by halves will hurt you badly when 4/7 of your army is off the table.

I forgot the HQ did not count as a troop.
I think you might be mistaken about the M18s though, unless I'm misreading something. My Fortress Europe books lists Tank Destroyer Platoon with M18 Hellcat GMC as available in the Italian Veteran forces at 435 points for 2 Tank Destroyer sections and 230 points for 1.
