Hey,
For those that don't know me I'm Steve, I've come up a few times to watch some of your group play on Sunday at Hobby Town. I bought the 2nd SS army box set thinking it would do ok as a base but after talking with Warren I'm a bit leary of trying this army as given.
Let me list what I have currently from the Cobra Book.
SS-PK-HQ [2 x pzr IVH] - 215pts SS-Pzr-Platoon [4x pzr IVH] - 435pts SS-Pzrgrenadier-Platoon [3 SS Pzrgrenadier squads] - 320pts SS-AA Gun Platform [2 Sd Kfz 7/1] - 125pts SS-Rocket Launcher Battery [1 section w/ additional launcher + PaK40] - 205pts Artillery ATG Platoon [1 section Pak43] - 140pts
Now the box set comes with a 2 Fallschirmjager Platoon [2 squads] - 175pts.....
Now I'm not really certain the Fallschirmjager should be in this list at all.
What I'm looking for is advise on what should I add as the list as is with the Fallschirmjager is only 1615pts.
I know this asking for help is very very broad as I honestly don't know enough yet to make intelligent choices. I would like to stay with the 2nd SS(not that I have any particular loyalty to them) but this could probably all be converted to straight Wehrmacht if needed and if it would be more well rounded.....just need to buy another book .
Thanks, Steve

Well you my one bit of advice is to buy another SS Panzergreinadier blister and run the army as an infantry force. Cutting your teeth on SS armor is going to be rough as the force is not forgiving at all it requires a very precise play still to make the most use of your small number of tanks. If you do that you can split the 6 tanks into 2 platoons of 3. It gives you 2 infantry, 2 armor, and the rocket platoon as your arty. Use the AA tracks as your 6th platoon and call it a day. It isnt a power game list but its not a bad learning list till you figure the game out enough to realy build what suits you.

Thank you for your constructive advice. I have sat down and computed a new list that would equal 1755 pts.
This is a PzrGren List (SS)
HQ with 2IC being a Pzrschreck team = 60pts 2 x PzrGren 3squads w/ one of the 3 being a pzrfaust team = 240 pts rocket launcher battery with one extra launcher + Pak40 team = 205 atg plat pak 43 = 140 4 stug g = 435pts 2 aa sections upgrading to pak43 = 105 heavy platoon 2 sections w additional mortar section = 225pts 1 atg gun sec pak40 = 85
still seems small but it seems solid.
does give me the potential for fortifications and bunkers being PGK (infantry company)

One thing about FoW that is differant from GW games is that you can not exceed the points limit. You may play with fewer but never more than the aggreeded total.
Btw there is a couple of weak spots you need to consider. The 2 ATG platoons are not going to last. You have only 2 stands in those 2 platoons and the AA unit has only 3 stands. You also wrote your list wrong in a few places such as the HQ upgrade is a panzerfaust team not a panzershreck. The Pak43 in the AA unit is actually a Flak 43. You also wrote your points for the panzergrens wrong as with the HQ Panzerfaust upgrade each platoon is 250.
Ok now here is what I suggest.
Hq 2x Panzerfaust 70pts Pzgren 2x Panzerfausts 260pts Pzgren 2x Panzerfausts 260pts 3x Panzer MkIV 325pts 3x Panzer MkIV 325pts 3x Pak 40 185pts 3x NW41 150pts Full scout platoon 175pts
1750 and everything you need comes from the box except the pak 40s and 1 platoon of infantry.

Thank you for the correction on the point totals. I was indeed in the mind set of warhammer.
Appreciate the corrections in that sloppy typed list written in haste. Thanks again for using most of what is in the box too. That will save me coin until I get a grasp of the game. As a side note, I do actually own 4 Stugs courtesy of the starter box and a trade.
Thank you again for your time in helping me out in this stage of the game.
