So for now I'm running a regular tankovy list (that is to say T-34/76s and T-34/85s). I have a battle report against CJs tigers to post in another forum. Here is the list so far, I have two possibilities:
HQ (T-34/85)
8 T34s (5 T-34/85s) 8 T-34s (5 T-34/85s)
Sapper Company (2/3 strong)
Spetznaz Platoon (1 Strong)
Tank-rider company (1/3 strong)
3 ISU-122s with anti-aircraft gun
6 platoons/companies at 1725 points.
Here is another variant:
HQ (T-34/85)
7 T34s (5 T-34/85s) 7 T-34s (5 T-34/85s)
Sapper Company (2/3 strong)
Spetznaz Platoon (1 Strong)
3 ISU-122s with 2 anti-aircraft gun
Limited Sturmoviks
5 platoons/companies at 1750 points.
I like the second list for its ability to deal with enemy air better, as well as relying on the sturmoviks for anything the tanks are too shy to handle (Jagdpanthers come readily to mind). On the other hand the first company has a platoon count of 6. The only thing that makes me nervous about that is the inability to really deal with air (awkward layout on both our anti-air options? My tanks don't stop that long!). Another problem is that the Tank-Rider company not only serves no purpose against armored lists but gives a freebie platoon, which is worse than having just 5 platoons. I have also found them somewhat ineffective at taking on infantry).

I've run this variant a few times with relative success so here it is:
HQ T-34/85
4 T-34/85, 1 T-34 4 T-34/85, 1 T-34 4 T-34/85, 1 T-34
4 ISU-122s 1 section sapper company 1 section spetznaz
It's done really well so far.

I hope the T34/76 in the 3rd list isnt the command tank or he dies automaticly as the weakest tank armor hit. I also am curious if you have play tested list 3 vs infantry as you have given up alot of your assault ablity for tank hunting.

I don't have a list four, is that list three there? T-34s can upgrade up to five tanks to T-34/85s they are not specified in which order they upgrade. My command tanks are set apart in all my armies by being the only ones with tank commanders standing up out of the hatch, so no they aren't the command tanks. As far as the infantry question, that is a very valid point, I think I need to keep the pioneers at a 2/3 squad, but in the few games I got in against infantry the tank riders were too weak to do much on their own. How does this one look:
HQ T-34/85
5 T-34/85s, 1 T-34/76 5 T-34/85s, 1 T-34/76
4 ISU-122 2/3 sappers 2 section katyushas

better may I ask what book your looking to run this list from?
FE 2 has the best CT tankovy as it allows oyu to buy power armor AKA T70s to do the assault work and still get plenty of 85mm guns to kill tanks
BTW Katis die to anything unarmoed + smoke trail = problem

Hammer and Sickle, sorry about the confusion. Yes I suppose they are somewhat weak now that I think about it...I still want to try to use them at least a couple times since I went to the trouble of buying them >.<
