You will suffer in any mobile battle but in the defensive fights your not playing nice. Just rember your trenchs are your only mobility so dont let anyone plug them up.

Did Paula finally determine which 3 scenarios she's going to play in the tournament? Mobility in any 78th list seems too costly.

I played a similar version of this list last night with a friend against my Strelk list (I have too many models, but hey at least some of the stuff were proxies XD) anyway we had rolled cauldron and he was automatically defender (I lent him the Sturm stuff and I took the Strelk side) Heinous. The trenches could cover his 16" ring around the center and he just didn't move, no armored elements on his side just mortars nebs and paks but man it was brutal. If I might suggest a platoon of HMGs, those things absolutely did not let me move (I random deployed right next to the HMG nests ooh!).

McGinn I actually had toyed around with that but based on the points I can spend and what I could come up with I had to run the Sturm Platoons short and reenforced them with the HMG's I attached back out to the platoons. The Sturm Platoon itself gives me 21 possible hits in defensive fire and I know I need 10 hits to pin down a blob so sure I want the extra 6 hits I can get by attaching the HMG's out, just not sure if it's worth it in the long run. However if I take hits on the HMG teams I'm looking at a 5+ save which in all honesty scares me.

No worries.. for defense I keep the platoons and other assets near the platoon I see being pushed towards for assaults so I can link in the other platoons for defensive fire. I didn't have the pioneer platoon yesterday but if I had Buthrakaur wouldnt have tried his assaults the way he did I'm sure. He'd have waited it out pushed the turns to go faster so I'd have had to start withdrawing platoons from the table since I should have started with 8.
