For my first army I decided, with input from Mcginn, Eric, and David, to build a Tiger Kompanie
Here is what I built:
HQ 2 Tigers
2 platoons of 2 Tigers
1 Launcher section of Nebelwerfers
3 7/1 2cm Armored Half track(Anti-Air)

It works just be aware of how fragil those two support platoons are. I would suggest 2 brumbars instead of nebels but ether option is vaild. The book coming out on the 14th will have a new Tiger list in it that is Heer aka CV not FV so cheaper Tigers.

Keep in mind that if you are playing a Soviet list from H & S, you will be defending 5 out of the 7 missions played. In 4 of these missions, you will be in prepared positions and if the Soviet player has the first turn he is allowed to infiltrate with a Spetsnaz or Decoy platoon. I would include a Infantry or Pionier platoon to help limit their route of access. These's platoons are also unidentified. I would figure out a way to include some sort of Scout or Recon platoon to identify the Spetsnaz and Decoy platoons. You must be within 8", not the normal 16", to identify them with reconnaissance. Otherwise, you must pass a Skill Test prior to rolling- to-hit them with regular platoons.

I am infantry first with tanks in support to exploit weak spots, gaps in the line, counterattack, or sit back and outrange the enemy. In H & S, I like the Ersatz Pionierkompanie. Pros::They give me a plethora of fortifications, 18 stands of Tank assault of 5, and a heavy tank platoon. Cons::No Scout or Recon platoons and they are Trained instead of Veteran. How about this list? 35 HQ 50 two Pionier supply Maultier's 210 Pionier platoons (full) 25 Pionier supply Maultier 210 Pionier platoon (full) 25 Pionier supply Maultier 860 Schwere Pz platoon (4 Tiger's) 220 10.5cm leFH18 (2 sections) 110 Armored AAA (Quad 2cm) add (0) top armor 1745 points Since you like Tiger's, you still have four. If you go with 4 Panthers instead, you can upgrade 10.5cm to 15cm arty or (my preferance) get 3 Hummels w/ PzII OP tank. I also like the Tank-Hunters Special Rules, but I'm not going to buy new equipment. Kampfgruppe the Pioniers for 3 platoons (7 stands each) and you have a total of 6 platoons.
